Ten fishermen disappear in Mannar Sea

(March 24, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) “Ten fishermen who went to fish in the Mannar sea have gone missing. The ten fishermen went to sea over a period five days from 6th to 10th March. Their families have lodged complaints with human rights groups in Mannar. Families suspect foul play by the Sri Lanka Navy for the disappearance of the ten fishermen over a period of five days,’ sources in Mannar said.

Xavier Bigirado aged 26, Yuvanis Leonard Bigirado aged 19 and Sahanathan Bigirado aged 23 went to sea on 6 March and have been missing since, sources told the reporter.
Viutson Roch aged 30, Arokyam Luxman Perera aged 18, Alexander John aged 27, Kanesh Karna aged 19 and Benjamin Ahilan Perera aged 21 went to sea on 7 March and have been missing since, the sources added.

J Arokyanathan, aged 27, and S Yutlas Bigirado, aged 24, went to sea on 10 March and have been missing since.
