Is Asian Tribune an unofficial mouthpiece of Pillayan?

(March 23, Zurich, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Asian Tribune editor K T Rajasingam known as Goni Pissa, after maintaining relative silence has entered the fray once again to self promote the TMVP and its deputy Pillayan. The editor got into difficulties when he was involved in the underhand dealings to send TMVP’s leader Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan alias Col Karuna to the UK and then publishing scandalous news about his arrival in London for the British authorities to arrest him. Sources close to TMVP confirmed that both Col. Karuna and TMVP’s deputy Pillaiyan had told K T Rajasingam to keep away from TMVP matters.

Having siphoned the fourteen thousand US dollars given by the TMVP to register their party, K T Rajasingam is back again trying to preside over the TMVP in the international level. He is said to have not returned the funds and pocketed the whole sum stating it was for his service to the TMVP and further justified needing the money to spend for his daughter’s wedding to an Afro-Caribbean recently.

Sources close to TMVP confirmed they want to have a better understanding with the United National Party (UNP) and its leader. When asked how these gullible stories are appearing in the Asian Tribune, they said K T Rajasingam is taking the liberty to write stories without their consent. The source further said the editor will call Pillaiyan and say, ‘Hello. How are you’ on his mobile phone. Then he will keep a record of the time of calling to justify his contact with Pillaiyan and then write his own creative stories.

Pillaiyan communicates mainly in Tamil and how he would have said the ‘cock and bull gibberish’ in Tamil is very mind boggling. Did he say in Tamil ‘Sevalum and maadum Poi’. Does anyone speak like that in Tamil? What a gibberish comment of K T Rajasingam.

The TMVP sources said the Asian Tribune man will scan through the websites for information about TMVP and then write his own version of stories blatantly using Pillaiyan’s name.

The TMVP source also said ‘how can we trust or engage K T Rajasingam when he had done so much harm to us’. He not only put Karuna into trouble and also he tried to kill TMVP official Krishnan few months ago.

TMVP Leader Pillaiyan Refutes Cock and Bull Gibberish of UNP Leaders Facing Certain Defeat at PC Elections

Colombo, 22 March, (Asiantribune.com): Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pullikal leader S. Chanthirakanthan alias Pillaiyan refuted the UNP Leaders audacious comments that TMVP was interfering in the security affairs of Sri Lanka. Facing certain ignominious electoral defeat in the forthcoming Provincial Council elections, they are spewing out some ‘cock and bull’ gibberish. Pillaiyan strongly denied Opposition Leaders canard that TMVP has requested the withdrawal of STF camps in the East.Pillaiyan said that unlike UNP we know our limits and limitations although we are a very young political party and we are only on the democratic path to win the goodwill of the people.

When the Asian Tribune contacted him, S.Chanthirakanthan alias Pillaiyan, he said that this was the most childish comment he had ever read or heard. It is unfortunate that the United National Party which was in power for more than 31 long years in this country has come with such shameless tactics for their political gain. Having not said a word about the great bravery of the Sri Lankan armed forces, they are now resorting to false allegations.

He staunchly maintained that TMVP is a very new political Party, registered as a political party just before the Local Government elections in the Batticaloa district and only interested in building up our party through democratic means. That is why we contested the Local Government elections and that is why we are preparing to contest in the East Provincial council elections, Pillaiyan said.

Pillaiyan said that unlike UNP we know our limits and limitations although we are a very young political party and we are only on the democratic path to win the goodwill of the people.

“We are well aware of the significant and importance of the national security of the country, which has to be kept above politics and no one should interfere. The national security is handled by the patriotic armed forces of this country. They have vowed to protect the country and there are dedicated armed forces leaders and they know better than anyone us to safeguard the country,” Pillaiyan explained.

He said that no political party should come up with silly allegations of this nature to vilify the armed forces.

While talking to Asian Tribune, he said, “During the Eastern province Liberation war, our boys had the opportunity to assist the armed forces including the STF. We know very well how dedicated those STF personnel are than anyone in this country,” TMVP leader pointed out.

“However”, he added “at times we have received some complaints about some STF personnel of some excess or other and rightly we have brought it to the notices of the superiors of those respective areas and they have immediately taken actions.”

Pillaiyan said, at this point of time, when nominations are expected to be called for the East Provincial Council elections, it is hard to comprehend why UNP coming up with such allegations? It is only strategic ploy by the UNP leaders to fool the people of the East, he said.

Pillaiyan said that in the 1989 Provincial Council elections, UNP managed to win only 1 seat in the east. They managed to win that one seat because, during that period the SLFP, JVP and other political parties did not participate in that provincial election. So UNP is thinking of participating in the elections but they are fully aware they are waiting face an ignominious defeat. That is why they are trying getting ready to blame the TMVP for their defeat.

“I think UNP should try to win over the people and not to come up with hatemongering which will put them in a political oblivion sooner or later,” he said.
