My greatest treasures

by Victor Karunairajan

Many lovely friends I'm blessed
Loyal, faithful and so friendly,
Do I miss them only in moments
Or in hours, days and months?

With such it cannot surely be
Moments only now and then
For in my heart they reside
As all friends so precious to me.

When I sit in silent thoughts
I see a procession of them
Encircling me with such smiles
I feel so good and delighted.

They come from the East
And also from the West,
North and South as well too
And from diverse cultures.

They are genuine gems
Exquisite and elegant
Are preciously enshrined
On me with soothing chimes.

They my greatest treasures
Friends and folks I gathered
In this wide, wide world
There homes are mine too.
