Govt. cancels work permit of Srilankan Airlines chief

(December, 19, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The government of Sri Lanka has been cancelled the work permit of Peter Hill, the Chief Executive Officer of the national career Srilankan Airlines.

According to sources at the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, the cancellation was made today (Dec. 19th) after Hill did not comply with a request made by the government.

Owning a 51 per cent stake, the government is the main shareholder of the Srilankan airlines, with Emirates Airlines possessing the balance 49 per cent of shares.
