Electricity Consumers to be electrocuted again by Government

(December, 19, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) It has become the Rajapakse Govt.‘s practice and favourite hobby to heap all the burdens resulting from the Govt.’s mismanagement , corruption and negligence on the hapless masses ,while protecting rather than punishing the culprits.

The Ceylon Electricity Board has been one of the many State Institutions which has come under heavy fire for corruption allegations and mismanagement which are the cause of its heavy expenditure and its losses.

But, the only solution the Govt. has for these losses is to make the consumers the scapegoats - Ultimately, making them to pay hiked tariffs to cover the losses.

Again, the CEB has issued a warning that a steep price hike is in the immediate offing as it cannot meet its wasteful expenditures.
