LTTE fund raisers are on the run

(October, 13, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) Following clampdown by the British authorities on the activities of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), number of its fund collectors had gone into hiding. The activists were deterred and stayed when the UK head of the LTTE Arunachalam Crishanthankumar alias A C Shanthan and the LTTE’s youth wing leader Golden Lambert were arrested by the Counter Terrorism Unit of the British Police.

These well known fund raisers have decided to pack their bags when police raided the house of the UK Finance Head of the LTTE in Greenford Rupert Soosaipillai alias Thanam just over a month ago. During the raid the police had taken away documents and a computer from his house. At the time of the raid Thanam was not in the house.

The police raid at Thanam’s house has sent shivers among the fund raisers and they have been encouraged to move away by the LTTE hierarchy.

LTTE’s frontline fund raisers Gana, Kenthi, Bala Vaathi and Rajith have moved away to unknown places. Names of few others who have moved out from their residences are to be verified.
