Government Still blind on Their Ministers’ Hooliganism, rowdyism and disrespect

Even though the recent spate of outrageous incidents of thuggery, rowdyism and hooliganism has earned for the Govt., bitter public disapproval and condemnation, it seems that Minister Mervyn‘s rowdyism cannot be deterred. He has didainfully brushed aside threats of disciplinary action against him by the SLFP Gen. Secretary, Maithripala Silva.

Earlier, Malaka Silva son of Minister Dr. Mervyn Silva and Minister Bhaila were remanded on separate incidents of merciless assaults on outsiders.

Later, Mervyn Silva tried to take the law into the hands threatening the public with a gun, and later allegedly instigating a gang to intimidate the Magistrate’s mother inquiring into his son’s assault case.

Next, a Deputy Minister attacked the body guard of Minister, Risath Badhurdeen; both Ministers are from the Eastern Province.

Watching the impunity with which these individuals are committing wrongs, it is questioned by the Public, whether the President has issued licenses to these Ministers and their sons to behave as hooligans and thugs.
