Basil - No : Tamichelvan - Yes

(October,03, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian)S.P.Tamilchelvan, the LTTE political wing leader in an interview with the Sudar Oli newspaper, categorically refuted the claim by Presidential advisor Basil Rajapaksa in Parliament last week that he did not meet any LTTE representative before the Presidential elections.

Tamilchelvam in his interview said a delegation of Mahinda Rajapaksa group which included Basil did come over to the Wanni and held talks with the administrative division.

It is the maxim that ‘the more a person defends a position, the more it becomes clear that it needs defence’. Obviously, therefore Basil Rajapaksa’s defence that he did not meet the LTTE , and Tamilchelvam’s refutation thereof ,only strongly confirms that Basil has strong hidden motive to defend his ‘lie’.

Inquiry on at Airport

Meanwhile , a serious Presidential security breach was discovered at the Bandaranayake Int. airport when it was detected that some unknown person or persons have vandalised the President’s baggage.

It is learnt that his luggage on his arrival at the Airport has been defaced with derogatory remarks - “thopi Lankawe salli kapiaw” (you are squandering Sri Lankan people’s money)

An inquiry has been instituted in this connexion.
