(October, 23, Paris, Sri Lanka Guardian) It appears the France government has frozen the bank accounts of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) on yesterday,22 Monday, according to source in France.LTTE operations in France are being exposed with bank accounts believed to be used to transfer funds for the LTTE from France being frozen following the arrest of 40 Sri Lankan origins Tamil working in the Charles de Gaulle airport in early of this year.
Investigations done by the French police have revealed that some of these arrested persons had “08 millions” of euros in their accounts, prompting the police probe; the source told the Sri Lanka Guardian.
The government believes organization monies are being used to support terrorism.
This is an interesting security tactic on the government's part.
