Three bodies recovered in Mannar

Two dead bodies were recovered from Mavil village 1.5 kilometer off Kajuwatte along Murunkan Chilavathurai Road, yesterday.

The bodies were identified as of Chinniah Subramaniam (56) and his wife Rangamma, by the nearest relatives. Murunkan Police recovered the bodies and District Judge of Mannar ordered a post mortem. The decomposed bodies were cremated after post mortem inquest. The Divisional Secretary and members of the clergy were present at the cremation. The victims were firewood collectors it is alleged.

Meanwhile, the dead body recovered from Sankeerthavady area was identified as of Subash Harry Danial Fernando (25). The Additional District Judge, Mannar T.P. Prabakaran ordered the body to be released to the next of kin after post mortem examination. This body was recovered from the Station Road, at Sankeerthavady.
