Elder Couple killed by LTTE gunman in Kilinochchi

A husband and wife were killed when a LTTE vehicle knocked them down in the Rathinapuram area in Kilinochchi last Sunday around 3.15 p.m, according to source in Kilinochchi.

The victims were Jacob Santhiyapillai 58 years and his wife Theresamma, 54 years. They were heading to Kanagapuram in a motorbike when the LTTE hunter vehicle, which was speeding, hit the motorbike and they succumbed to their injuries while they were taken to hospital.

Meanwhile The Q branch police in South India prohibit the Sri Lankan refugees sheltered at the Mandapam camp from leaving the camp.

About 4 thousand Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka have arrived in India due to the war erupted after the Ranil - Praba agreement. To avoid the LTTE infiltration to the refugee camps no outsiders are allowed into the camps. The refugees are being advised to give information to the police if any new persons enter the camp.

Elsewhere, A businessman was shot dead by the LTTE at Chilavathurai.
The victim was Amalan Kulendran of Sooriya Kaddaikkadu. He was attacked by the LTTE while he was shutting his business centre.
