12 bombs,altogether weighing nearly 50kg have been found in Jempattah Street,Colombo here tonight, by the police Terrorists Investigation Division and military, sources confirmed.
The arrest was made after the information received by a suspect who was earlier arrested with 150 communications sets and 4 radars in Ja-ela.The bombs were very similar to claymore mines,but little bit different,a militrary source said.They marked with numbers, he added.Police suspects bombs would being using to fixed with a vehicle to detonate elsewhere in Colombo suberbs.Police also found some GPS,compasses and communications sets.
Meanwhile LTTE fired mortars at troops manning defences at Nagarkovil,Jaffna last night leaving one soldier dead and 14 injured, source added.
