SL navy sailors conducting search operations along Pesalai beach found 6510Litres of Diesel which had been arranged to be transported to un-liberated areas in Wanni early this morning (August 29).According to the naval sources, the consignment of fuel was found in 31 barrels from a thicket in the Putukuduirruppu area on the Pesalai coast around 2.15 a.m.
“In the early hours of today around 02.15, naval troops on a special mission of search operation uncovered thirty one (31) two hundred and ten (210) litre barrels of diesel close to the beach area of Pudukudiruppu at Peslai in Manna,” Source in SLN told the Lanka Guardian.
Futhermore , “the barrels of diesel were to be transported to un-cleared area in Vedithalthivu to be handed over to LTTE, they seemed, as they had been hidden in a very secretive suspicious manner without claimants for the ownership,”he added.
However, no arrest had been made and no suspect is known as yet.
