More money more worry

Those who suffer mostly are young female children who are easy un-guarded prey for fathers who are eternally intoxicated, which is their form of fun, and the young girls become vulnerable victims since, they are unprotected without their mothers to take care of the young girls.

The biggest foreign exchange earner for this country is not something to be proud of but beggars cannot be choosers, and, we have accepted it as our biggest export, labour. Since, it earns much needed foreign exchange for us; those involved are therefore spoken of as near martyrs. Individually they are still mere labourers in the case of the lower rung of the order, such as housemaids, cleaners, mechanics who have to yet work on their knees although they earn dollars. Their sufferings, especially those of the housemaids have not reached the attention of the very nation which they tried to stabilise with their earnings.

Most of them leave for greener pastures due to problems and short-comings forced upon them by the system of the nation which later thrive on their hard-work. The problems they leave behind get worse, when their husbands back home get hold of monies sent for purposes of existence are misused on having fun. What takes place in their lives then becomes juicy and hounded of as arousing reading material, to be reported in the main stream newspapers as ‘karma-tic’ matters in a vastly Buddhist society. The outcome of these makes other family members suffer.

Those who suffer mostly are young female children who are easy un-guarded prey for fathers who are eternally intoxicated, which is their form of fun, and the young girls become vulnerable victims since, they are unprotected without their mothers to take care of the young girls. This may be the result of many in the country who are used to fashioning themselves after the so called celebrity, often the politicians of the country, who are boozers and womanisers.

The life style of most big shots in government service is also fashioned similarly. Therefore they patronise various groups of wrong doers, for various reasons and also as partners of their illicit earnings. They are symbolically entwined on matters of illegal bearing creating a situation of being important to politicians, whom they dependent upon. These characters have no problem in getting politicians hooked up in their plans, and later using them for survival if and when things go sour.

They seemed to have a botched up situation on their hands, when somebody’s plan of sending two young girls as young as 13 years of age, to the Middle East failed recently. These girls apparently were apprehended at the airport trying to board the plane that would have taken them to their fate. From information reaching us the girls had not even visited the immigration counter to obtain their document to travel as required by the department of immigration. How they obtained their passports stating them to be above their actual age could not be done unless illegally. Who are the people behind this racket, are they part of an international prostitution ring that deals with young girls who obviously fetch a higher prize. As with the more recent case of the seventeen year old held for a murder in Suadi, also is supposed to have traveled on false papers. Will we ever know the truth?

What is more interesting is the news that authorities connected with the foreign employment bureau are trying to set up a kind of home for the children of those seeking employment through their network. The kids will get educated and looked after during the absence of the mothers, as these authorities have lately realised the value of motherhood in bringing up children. During the absence of their mothers who are serving in foreign countries, they are known to have changes in their attitudes due to not having that comfort and strength they get being with parents.

It is a well thought of idea which can be good in a sense of the idea thought of, but are these authorities sincere in their thoughts, because otherwise there can be severe repercussions on the child who gets the wrong treatment at the own hands of the good Samaritans.
