By: Nelson S. Edirisinghe, Media Secretary of the EPDPDouglas Devananda, Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare, granted financial assistance for uplifting the lives of the members of Anaikoddai Savathkadu Society for the Elders.
Representatives from Savathkadu Society for the Elders which comprises of 115 members met the Hon. Minister at his Ministerial office and placed before him the difficulties experienced by the society in maintaining it. The granting of funds is in consequent to the appal made. Minister also took steps to arrange issuing them with special Identity cards by the Ministry of Social Services and Social Welfare.
