London councillor Daya Idaikadar upto his usual tricks again regarding latest Sri Lankan asylum ruling

By Nimalan Duraisamy, Brentwood, Essex

The much pro-LTTE hype about an LTTE sympathiser being granted asylum by the Immigration Appeals Tribunal is nothing but an individual ruling based on one single asylum case. This ruling has been all hyped up by pro-LTTE websites such as Tamilnet on the instructions of Councillor Daya Idaikadar. The Immigration Appeals Tribunal only granted this man asylum purely because the Tribunal felt that the applicant may not be safe if sent back to Sri Lanka.
Cllr Daya Idaikadar second from left with other pro-LTTE gang members, Cllr Eliza Packiyadevi Mann, Cllr Sahikala Suresh and her husband London Baba Suresh and Cllr Paul Sathyanesan at the LTTE tamasha in Hyde Park in July 2006. This tamasha led to the arrest of LTTE head A Chrishanthakumar and LTTE’s youth wing head Golden Lambert by the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Metropolitan police on 21 June 2006.

It is important to note that the UK Home Office disagrees with the Tribunals decision and will be making an appeal. The Law Courts do not always agree with decisions made by the UK government and that’s what makes the law Courts independent in the UK. News items that have been published on Tamilnet has been well exaggerated to intentionally bring the wrong message to the Sri Lankan Tamil Disapora into thinking that this ruling will now set the precedent which not the case as there is no precedent setting with a Tribunal. Once again this goes to show yet another classic example of the LTTE and their cronies in the UK who will do anything to capitalise for their own political propaganda purposes to win back support from the Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora for their lost cause.
