The victim has been identified Praba (24) who is senior member of the TMVP.
“This is first time they (Wanni Tigers) have been killed our cadre in Trinco,” sources in TMVP said.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Silmi, who left for fishing in a fibreglass boat last Saturday, went missing. He was a father of 4.
The fisher folk of the area searched for him but neither he nor the boat were found. At this juncture the fishermen heard that a body is floating in Nachchikudah Sea. They went there and identified the body as of the missing person they were searching for. The body was taken to the Mannar hospital. The body was handed over the relatives after death inquiry and autopsy. His boat would have capsized as the sea became rough.
