Satyapriya, a Tamil woman (26) from Jaffna, who attempted to leave for Canada using a fake passport, was arrested by Chennai Police.She was staying in Dasarathapuram with her sister and attempted to use her sister’s passport after doing certain alterations, it is alleged.
Chennai police following detection by the airport authorities arrested her.
Meanwhile a change is to be introduced in the procedure of issuing visa to proceed to India, said the Indian High Commission sources.
The new system will be in force from next Wednesday and this action is being taken due to the increase of visa applications, the High Commission said.
