China agreed to train Sri Lankan army in the first stage it will admit three senior officers of the forces for one year training. This training will be held in the national Security University of China. Former army spokesman and present commander of 23 brigades, Major General Srinath Rajapakse, Rear Admiral Susith Weerasekara of the Navy operation unit are the nominees selected for the training.
India, Pakistan, America and Britain offered one year scholarship in their defense academies for a one- year course for our soldiers. The course will be based on war strategies.
Meanwhile the US will assist Sri Lanka youths for vocational training and education to enable them to secure employment, said the US Embassy in Colombo.
