They were displaced from Batticaloa, Chenkalady and Trincomalee districts. The people of Trincomalee Eachilampattu are still in the camps as their area was declared as high security zone.
The displaced from Chenkalady are still in the camps, as the security of that area has not been guaranteed, although they wish to resettle in their native places. They have made requests to all concerned including the UN representatives to resettle them in their lands as early as possible.
